Tea Party Tips

When I think of tea parties, December 16th immediately comes to mind...there was this little get together in Boston. Everyone was there. I hope you didn't miss it! Check out the pictures on PMC...or maybe not, since it was way back in 1773. Now that the tiff between the American colonists and those British imperialists has been over for a bit, people on both sides of the pond are concerned with another kind of tea party: the kind that features delectable scones, sugar-frosted pears, and crisp cucumber sandwiches. And when I think of high society and high tea, one name comes to mind - TRACY STERN.

So enjoy these pictures from our latest photo shoot - Tea Time with Tracy!

Dancing With A Supermodel

This Friday (10/19), the gorgeous Canadian model, Coco Rocha, who has been the face for such design houses as Lanvin and Balenciaga, plans to take her amazing Irish dancing talents to NYC's Children's Aid's East Harlem Center as part of her work for The Children's Aid Society. Rocha will be conducting a dance workshop at the center as well as performing with her dance troupe, Eire Born, for middle school students at The Children's Aid Society's Mirabel Sisters Campus in Washington Heights.

"Working with The Children's Aid Society is a way for me to give something back to my community. Irish dancing is something that has always inspired me and hopefully it can do the same for these children."

Gorgeous inside and out!

The Good Nights

Every night in this city there is an event, a hot party, a premiere, a gala, or a charity benefit. The days go by and suddenly every day is marked by some "special" happening, which makes everything seem a little less special. Or maybe not... I was looking over some pictures that brought a smile to my face and I realized that maybe every night in this crazy city does hold a bit of magic.

Here are pictures from a fun night that I met up with Kristian, Anisha, and Anabel. We started off at the usual fun fete...

Afterwards, we raced pedicabs!! Anisha, Kristian, and I were in one pedicab while Anabel and her friend were in another...

The ride was bumpy but we still pouted for the camera:-P

Both Anabel and her cab were focused on the finish-line and sped past.

Everyone's Latest Guilty Pleasure

Gossip Girl is the newest must-have TV addiction. Why so popular, you ask? Gossip Girl has it all: scandal, sex, a gorgeous cast, fabulous fashions, and all the delicious drama you can handle.

It's no secret that we live in a celebrity-driven culture and Gossip Girl plays right into that phenomenon. In the same manner that tabloids and celeb-gossip blogs report on the ups and downs of celebrity lives, the Gossip Girl teens fascinate us with their glamorous lives of excess we all want, while comforting us in reminding its audience that pretty, rich kids have problems too.

It's official: Wednesday is my new favorite day of the week.

Susan Shin, like most of us, had places to go and people to see. But one thing's for sure: packing for a trip is not complete without a pair of Beverly Feldmans!

Battle of the Fashionistas

It's everyone's favorite piece of gossip that came out of fashion week and one of the only things that got people to finally stop complaining about the Marc Jacobs show (PS, MJ please don't leave NY!)

Anna Wintour VS. Rachel Zoe: A Fashion Showdown

In a recent NY Times article, which profiled the stylist guru, Zoe was quoted as saying, "Anna Wintour is one of my heroes, but they say that I’m more influential. As great as it is, Vogue won’t change a designer’s business. But if an unknown brand is worn by a certain person in a tabloid, it will be the biggest designer within a week."

While the power of someone like La Lohan sporting a label's designs is undeniable, to say Vogue doesn't hold as much power might be somewhat outrageous. Vogue is a definer of fashion.

When Vogue features a new, unknown designer, which it has done a number of times, it is an introduction to the industry that much surpasses a quick shot of a celeb wearing a new must-have. It's a welcome that opens doors to the bigger fashion community and undoubtedly changes the world of that design label forever.

In any case, both fashion world staples possess an unquestionable power in the industry...just don't expect to see them sitting next to each other at a show anytime soon.

Watch it!

After the Charlotte Ronson Show, Kristian Laliberte, Anisha Lakhani, Tracy Stern, the lovely Mr. Morten, and I headed to the Sue Stemp show. Riding around in Tracy's vintage toy-blue Mustang was divine! But the best part of the ride had to be the witty banter. I only caught a bit of it on video...

What happened?

A musical legend. An American icon. A trainwreck. We were all rooting for a Britney Spears comeback this evening but our pop queen's reign may be officially over…

A shadow of her old self, Britney got through a lackluster performance looking visibly nervous (not to mention, completely out of it) with the help of background dancers who led her around the stage. Subject to lip-syncing and missed lyrics, MTV audiences, most of which tuning in only to see her, couldn't help but miss the days of NSYNC duets and python-accompanied dance numbers.

Was this the start of her “comeback,” or the end? You decide.

In case you missed it, here she is:

Behind the Shoot: Brittny Gastineau Edition

I had the pleasure of meeting Brittny Gastineau during her cover shoot for Social Life Magazine. Here are some exclusive behind the shoot photos that I captured....

While Brittny was busy being gorgeous in front of the camera, Jen kept an eye on Frankie, Brittny's furry little companion.

The shoot was held at Legacy Apartments, where even the toilets are presented in an elegant fashion.......
